life is in the details…

Sometimes your reflection can show up in the smallest of places…..my first self portrait, or more like “where’s waldo” picture.

springtime | orange county child photographer

It’s springtime.   I  am loving all the beautiful wildflowers blooming, the yellow and chartreuse hillsides; the fields are alive.  I don’t even mind the rain again.  I thought we might be done.  Guess not.  I am anxious to get out to those fields once this rain passes.  Looking forward to some fun sessions out there.   I had the pleasure of tagging along with a fellow photographer, Tara Sieling, this past weekend.  She will be honoring me by shooting with me at the end of the month.  She was shooting a beautiful wedding in San Clemente.  There is so much to love about shooting weddings, but I guess I am a sucker for girls all dressed up….like these two.  Simply beautiful.  The essence of springtime for me….

Got girls….get ’em all dressed up, call me, and let’s head for those fields.  It’s spring!!

You don’t always have to smile…

…and some days, you just want to let out a big cry.   I have been thinking of doing a “smile” series, but now I think I have changed my mind.  This isn’t the picture a parent usually wants to keep, but I love it.  Raw emotion.  Also, I have recently been loving just plain ol’ black and white.  So, here is the first little opener of a new series…..my first little cry baby.

I’d keep it. Some of my favorite pictures of my babies are of them crying like this.

Sissel - 04/11/2010 - 7:59 pm

I’d keep it for sure. We love the same stuff…

James Burggraf - 04/12/2010 - 6:56 am

I think we will keep it. This is opposite of what Jackson typically does, but it happens. They are cute with or without smiles.

Yep, for the few times I have seen him I’d say it’s out of character for him. He usually just smiles his cute little grin and the whole room lights up. He is such a doll. I can see so much of both of you in him.

If raw emotion is what you are looking for, you will have plenty of opportunity at the Moore house!
