But I digress.   Amy and Matt met the first day of college in a far away land called Connecticut.   Their friendship became love.  Perfection.  Drawn together from three thousand  miles away.   Their wedding day was no less perfection and balance.  They were married at St Joseph’s Cathedral in San Diego.  The same church Amy’s parents were married in decades before.  She planned all the details from miles away.  The day was magical.  And rather than lead you through a few images, you can preview of  glimpse of their day below….

Your vision.  Your successful life.  What does that look like?  How do you define it?  Of course, it is lovely to have a fat bank account and little worry about finances.  Who wouldn’t agree with that?  But, does that define success?

For me, it is good relationships, with God, with my husband, my stepdaughters and family, and having truthful and soulful friends.  I do not always have a lot of time to invest in this.  I’m grateful for the awesome friends I have, who I can pick right up with even when we haven’t had a chance to catch up with each other for months.  And my husband and family, well, thank god they love me.   My goal is to manage my time better and allot more time to invest in relationships.  It is so necessary for my sanity and my soul.  I am not a person with many, many friends, but the ones I have count for hundreds.  That’s my style.  And yes, that is a huge compliment to my lovely friends.

This is merely a slice of how I define success for myself.  There are so many things I want to do, I know success for me does not end right there.  But defining it is a really good place to start.

I think that people hide behind masks everyday.  So many of us who put on the perfect face to be liked, accepted, and judged well.   Of course, who doesn’t want to be liked?  That shouldn’t come with the price of not being true to who you are.

Although it would seem that I encourage quite a bit of mask wearing, like here, and um,  here,…I would always encourage you to be yourself.  There is only one you.  And you are unique to the world.  It would be a shame if we missed that.

Take off the mask, and drive your sword through it.

I rushed out this morning, heading in the wrong direction in many ways.  I got all of my paths straight and arrived just a few minutes late, just in time for the sun to peek from beyond the clouds and give us a warm spring day.   And although it looks like this little princess is having the best day of all, I must say, I know it was me.  It was definitely me.

Everyday I am reminded of the number of “things” I need to do that day.  And it stays there until it is checked off.  I just love it.

The best feeling in the world for me is getting through that list.  Well, that may be an overstatement.  Let’s just say being organized and moving forward is a pretty great feeling.  Maybe not “the best”.  What are you using to stay focused and organized?  If you have anything better, I would love for you to share.  We can all be so efficient for 2012, and leave Miss Martha in the dust.
